Packing for Summer at Saiyuen

As we move into the summer season at Saiyuen, it is important to be prepared for the weather! 

You don’t need to bring that much when you are camping here because we do have a lot of items on hand, especially if you forget something! Nonetheless, here is a handy cheat-sheet for how to pack for your next glamping/camping getaway at Saiyuen. 

Clothing:

• Moisture-wicking or quick-dry clothing
• Hat & sunglasses for sun protection 
• Closed-toe shoes for adventure activities
• Sandals/flip flops for the beach or shared shower
• A poncho in case of rain

Toiletries:

• Insect repellent + after bite
• Sunscreen
• Your preferred toiletries (we have removed mini toiletries for sustainability purposes)

Other: 

• Towels 
• Reusable water bottle. We have hot, cold, and warm water dispensers for refill 
• Camera/phone + charger
• Headlamp
• Preferred seasonings for cooking (Once you have made a booking, you can also receive an order form to pre-order BBQ provisions! Less to pack!
• Cash for deposits (at least HK$500 for a room deposit)
• A sense of adventure! 

We find it’s always helpful to have a packing list, but fear not! Saiyuen’s mart and vending machines sell provisions in case you’ve forgotten anything, and we do have additional equipment available to rent or borrow. If your tent does not come with a BBQ grill, you can book equipment in advance from your desktop for added convenience!

Lastly, if you’ve found that you’ve packed too much stuff, you can always hire a kaito from the ferry pier so you don’t have to haul it too far. Kaitos can be hired from the pier next to the public pier. Operators can often be found relaxing under the white awning! Let them know where you’d like to go and they can make it happen.
