Bring your family along and discover the natural beauty of Cheung Chau on foot! The "Cheung Chau Wild Walk" — Trail Exploration Award Scheme starts from Saiyuen, taking you along the tranquil paths around Sai Wan for a journey of approximately three kilometers. The route is easy and relaxing, offering you the chance to explore uniquely shaped boulders along the way and take in magnificent sea views. Upon completion, simply present your trekking record to claim an exclusive commemorative medal!

  1. Saiyuen (or start from Sai Wan Pier) >

  2. "Bie You Dong Tian" (A Cave of Wonders) Archway >

  3. Cheung Po Tsai Cave >

  4. Tin Hau Temple >

  5. Return to Saiyuen via the same route >

  6. Reclining Rock (Wu Hang Shek) >

  7. Pak Tso Wan >

  8. Reclining Rock >

  9. Po Yue Wan >

  10. Return to Saiyuen via the same route

On Foot Only

Participants must complete the route based on an honor system. The use of any transportation (such as bicycles or electric scooters/hoverboards) is strictly prohibited.

 

Proof of Completion

Visit all the checkpoints along the designated route and present one of the following as proof: • Personal photos taken at the scenic spots; or • A valid GPS tracking record.

 

Medal Collection

Upon completion, please proceed to the Saiyuen Front Desk in person to present your proof. After verification by our staff, each successfully registered participant will receive one "Cheung Chau Wild Trek Commemorative Medal".

 

Friendly Reminders

  • Personal Safety: This is a self-guided activity without staff stationed along the route. Participants take part at their own risk.

  • Recommended Gear: We recommend bringing sufficient drinking water, suitable hiking shoes, sun protection, and a communication device.

  • Environmental Protection: Please observe the "Leave No Trace" principles. Littering, damaging the natural landscape, or disturbing wildlife is strictly prohibited.

  • Limited Availability: Program quotas and commemorative medals are limited. Medals are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.



"Cheung Chau Wild Walk" — Trail Exploration Award Scheme Terms and Conditions

 

1. Eligibility

  • Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult guardian to participate.

  • Participants must ensure they are in good physical health and do not suffer from any medical conditions that make them unsuitable for strenuous exercise.

  • Participants must be paid overnight or day campers (excluding guests aged 3 or under, and 60 or above who enjoy free admission).

2. Medal Collection

  • Participants must present their trekking records and collect the medal in person at the Saiyuen Front Desk.

  • Quotas are limited. Medals are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last.

3. Rules

  • Participants must visit all checkpoints along the designated route and present valid electronic records or photos as proof.

  • All checkpoint visits and medal redemptions must be completed during the participant's period of stay or the valid period of their day camp ticket, and within the office hours of the Saiyuen Front Desk.

  • Participants must complete the route on foot. The use of any transportation (such as bicycles or electric scooters/hoverboards) is strictly prohibited.

  • The scheme is valid from April 10 to May 9, 2026.

4. Medal Redemption

  • Each successfully registered participant may claim only one commemorative medal upon presenting proof of completion.

  • Medals cannot be exchanged for cash or other prizes of equal value.

  • In the event of a dispute, Saiyuen reserves the right to make the final decision regarding the assessment of completion eligibility.

5. Safety and Liability

  • Assumption of Risk: This is a self-guided program without staff stationed along the route. Participants must assume all risks associated with the activity (including but not limited to injury, loss of property, or accidents).

  • Recommended Gear: Participants should bring sufficient drinking water, suitable hiking shoes, sun protection, and a communication device.

  • Weather Factors: In the event of severe weather (such as a Thunderstorm Warning, Red/Black Rainstorm Warning, or Typhoon Signal No. 3 or above issued by the Hong Kong Observatory), the distribution of medals will be suspended.

6. Environmental Protection

  • Participants must observe the "Leave No Trace" principles. Littering, damaging the natural landscape, or disturbing wildlife is strictly prohibited.

7. Use of Image Rights

  • Saiyuen reserves the right to take photographs and record videos during the activity. By participating in this scheme, participants consent to Saiyuen using these images for future publicity, promotion, and statistical purposes without the need for further consent or remuneration.

8. Dispute Resolution

  • Saiyuen reserves the right to amend, terminate the scheme, or change the terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

  • In case of any dispute, Saiyuen reserves the right of final interpretation and decision.
