Saiyuen at Every Age
22 July, 2026
As Saiyuen enters its 10th anniversary, it continues to make progress and innovate! And we have something for folks of all ages. Here's how to enjoy Saiyuen no matter how old you are.
Toddlers (0–3)
For little ones, Saiyuen is one big sensory playground. There is so much to discover including plants to touch, birds to listen to, and fresh produce to taste. With goats to feed and enough open grassy space to run freely, Saiyuen is a wonderful way to introduce tots to nature. There are countless ways to spend the time in between nap time at Saiyuen: take a walk to the beach, or take a cruise on the first bike. Bring a hat, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a sense of adventure – everything else is available here, including snacks, cribs (for rent), and loads of fresh air. Spend a day experimenting and exploring, but don't be surprised if the highlight of their day is a rock they found!
Early Primary YearsBy age 4, a whole new world of Saiyuen is opened up to children. Once kids turn 4, they can participate in more activities such as our art workshops, the climbing monkeys, and the bubble waffle workshop. This is also a wonderful age to enjoy Saiyuen’s unique playground, featuring a mini-zipline. Parents get to watch confidence build in real time, one small adventure at a time! Best of all, Saiyuen provides an environment where kids can play safely while parents can relax within earshot. We run two types of workshops: one where parents and children learn together (“Together We Explore”) and one where children learn independently from their parents. These “Growing Solo” programs, such as the Little Farmers Day Camp, are also a popular on-demand activity amongst the primary years age groups. Consider gathering a group of friends to participate in this activity, or join as a member (FREE!) or WhatsApp group and follow our social media to be the first to learn about new and upcoming programs!
Later Primary YearsThis is the age where the possibilities at Saiyuen seriously open up. Kids are old enough for the canopy walk and zipline, confident enough for abseiling, and still young enough for the “climbing monkeys.” They are just the right age to declare themselves "basically an expert" at whatever they tried five minutes ago. Games, campfire storytelling, and a bit of healthy competition with bubble soccer, soccer pool, or archery combat — this age group comes for the activities and stays for the bragging rights. These are the years of campfire core memories, the time when it’s still cool to hang out with your parents, and when your friends are gaining more importance. Why not combine them with a birthday party? Or, consider booking our African Safari Link Tents (2 safari tents meant for 2 families with an adjoined patio and entrances facing each other), or the Mongolian Gers, set in a more private area of the park, and which includes private toilets and BBQs, for stunning sunsets and a more focused experience.
TeensMore than ever, this is the time that teens need to connect with each other and disconnect from the wifi. At Saiyuen, the canopy walk and zipline, abseiling, and bubble soccer scratch the itch for something physical and slightly daring. Pair it with pickleball, an evening camp fire, lawn games, and friends, and it's the kind of low-key, unplugged hangout that somehow still makes for great photos. Our location on Cheung Chau means we are inherently safe from big city risks, and allows parents the freedom from worry about their teens, while getting some outside and recharge time, and family time.
FriendsWe are purpose-built for the adventure that finally makes it out of the group chat. For big groups and small groups, big tents or small tents, this is the place for unpretentious good old-fashioned fun, this is the spot. Imagine a weekend without a schedule that mixes outdoor activities by day (think bubble soccer, pickleball, lawn games, and walks to the beach) with a group BBQ at night. Easy on the budget, scenic enough that everyone still posts about it. Saiyuen is also flexible enough to match whatever energy the group brings. Want a full day of activities followed by a night in town? Done. Want to skip most of it and just talk by the fire until lights out? Can do. Saiyuen is a solid spot for groups of friends with time and space to fill however you want.
CouplesWhether it's slow mornings with a view, a quiet hike, picnic with a sunset, Saiyuen makes for an easy escape without needing to cross a border. Make it as active or as lazy as you like. Hike together, challenge each other with the canopy walk, or do absolutely nothing but watch the sun go down with a drink in hand. Skip the crowds, book a cozy tent, and let the island do the rest. Romantic doesn't have to mean fancy; sometimes it just means uninterrupted quality time and a slower pace. Saiyuen gives couples what they usually have to fight for: time, quiet, and each other's full attention.
FamiliesThis is about the full package: something for every age under one roof. Whether it’s two generations together or three, Saiyuen is an awesome escape. Kids can run wild on the activities while parents can relax (or join!). Easy BBQ dinners, campfire nights, and enough space for everyone to have their own adventure before regrouping for dessert. Here, we know family time is sacred and that’s why our space is for everyone at the same time. What’s more, Saiyuen is built for the extended crew! Cousins, grandparents, in-laws, family friends who might as well be family, everyone fits and all are welcome. Our party packages are an easy option for planning, so that it’s less "who's going to plan this" stress, and more "why don't we do this every year." Even larger groups (e.g. family reunions) might consider some friendly competition with our signature group activities such as Rush.
SeniorsNo need to rough it to enjoy the outdoors! Our quiet corner of Cheung Chau is the perfect setting for gentle walks, light birding, fresh sea air, and front-row seats to one of Hong Kong’s best sunsets. Enjoy the slower pace of Cheung Chau, a porch swing with a view, a stroll through our farm, or a chance to play with model boats or lawn games. Seniors aged 60+ enjoy weekday free entry at Saiyuen! Paid activities appropriate for seniors include arts & crafts workshops, bubble waffle workshops, or even the Cheung Chau Wild Walk for more active folks.
Ten years in, and the one thing that hasn't changed is this: Saiyuen was never built for just one kind of guest. It was built for all of you — however young, however old, and however adventurous. We can’t wait to see you here. |
